About Jan
Since the age of 12, I've had a strong bond with the sea. That's when I began sailing with my dad. Whether it was out on the open sea or on serene lakes, every summer we spent time on a boat. This passion has remained with me throughout the years, and after gaining extensive offshore experience, I successfully obtained my yachtmaster certification, which I proudly carry with me today.

Following my backpacking and hitchhiking journey across Europe from north to south, I decided to take the next big step and transition to a life at sea. I sailed from Gibraltar to the Canary Islands and further to Cape Verde, successfully crossing the Atlantic Ocean in just two weeks.

During this time, the idea of owning my very own sailboat became a burning desire. I was determined to make it a reality, so I worked in Sint Maarten Island for five months to save up the necessary funds. Afterward, I hitchhiked my way to Florida, where I acquired my beautiful "Destiny."

I dedicated time and effort to outfitting my boat, ensuring it's safe and ready to sail. After that, I sailed to Mexico to meet Joana and, with her help, transform Destiny into a cozy and beautiful home. My plan is to stay here for a while until I've saved enough money to embark on a solo journey across the Atlantic Ocean, back to my roots, the Baltic Sea.
About Joana
I am a traveler; I always have been. Staying in one place for too long leads me to extreme boredom. I crave new experiences, new people, and new challenges. Regardless of my budget's size, I'm always ready to move on when the time comes.

After working as a hostess with Sicilian Sails Company in the beautiful coastal city of Catania, Italy, it was time for a completely new adventure. In the beginning of January, I hitchhiked on a sailboat to cross the Atlantic Ocean from East to West, directly from Gran Canaria to Martinique Island. After three awe-inspiring weeks at sea, I found myself in the Caribbean, embarking on a series of island-hopping adventures, seeking passage with a total of three different captains, before finally reaching South America.
Since I started, I have been in a total of eight different countries that completely changed the way I see the world and interact with people.
Currently in Mexico, I've made the decision to take a break and settle down for a while. During this period, my focus will be on saving money for my upcoming adventure and developing my career in photography. What better place to do so than at sea, right alongside my good friend Jan, in these stunning turquoise waters? I'm immensely thankful for this fantastic opportunity!

Jan and I met in Martinique at the beginning of this year, after crossing the Atlantic Ocean. With so much in common, we quickly became friends. We spent some quality time together, and when we had to say goodbye, we weren't sure if we would see each other again. It's a pleasant surprise to be reunited with him after 7 months.
Now with a plan in mind, we are determined to make our dreams come to life.
